DUBLIN, Ireland: Wexford General Hospital has implemented strict visitor restrictions due to an outbreak of COVID-19 within its premises.

Hospital management announced that the outbreak has prompted the enforcement of enhanced infection control measures throughout the facility.

As a result of these measures, visits to Patrick's Ward will be significantly limited. Visitors will be permitted access only under exceptional circumstances, such as end-of-life situations or critical illness. For those needing to contact Patrick's Ward, the hospital's main number, 053 9153000, can be called to connect with the nurse manager on duty.

While visitor restrictions are in place for Patrick's Ward, visits to other hospital areas remain permitted. However, individuals are urged to visit only one patient at a time. It is also advised to refrain from bringing children to the hospital.

Hospital management emphasized that they are continuously evaluating the situation and may adjust restrictions accordingly. "We apologize for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank the public for their understanding and patience at this time," a statement released by the hospital concluded.
